A Three Hour Tour…

In Music on September 25, 2009 at 4:10 PM

We are getting all our ducks in a row to head out on tour yet again. I am very excited to hang out with our friends in Copeland, as well as get to hear their music every night (I am a big fan). You’d think that we would have toured with them by now, but surprisingly, this is our first tour together! Also joining us on the tour is another band that I am excited about hearing live for the first time – Barcelona. So, there are a few more days to get in a few last minute bike rides and do some laundry, which has been piling up since I got back from Australia. Also, we are making a list of possible songs to play, and we are thinking of playing some older songs from our catalogue. So leave me a comment if you have any requests, or let me know if you celebrate our entire catalogue…ha. Here are the dates, I hope to see you there!

The Original Three Hour Tour

The Original Three Hour Tour

  1. it would be cool if you guys played less is more.

  2. I’d love to hear Pressing On, or Falling Out in Boston!!!

  3. i’m a bit of a newer fan, and i’ll be there opening night, but i really like failure to excomunicate. and if you could play be my escape i would love you forever. i know you played that last year when you were around, but do it again… please.

  4. Pressing On would be great! I think Chap Stick, Chapped Lips, and Things Like Chemestry and Jefferson Aero Plane would be awesome to hear live!

  5. I would love to see I Am Understood?, From End to End, Jefferson Aero Plane, Softer to Me, and Failure to Excommunicate.. I’ve been going to your shows since 2003 so it’s really nice to see that you’re considering playing older songs. It’ll be my 8th time seeing you guys when you come to Atlanta. Maybe I’ll finally get to shake your hand and say thank you.

  6. I want to hear STAPLES in philly!!! lol. it wont happen, but a girl can dream. over thinking?? :) this week the trenddddd. maintain consciousness… ahh the list goes on. but seriously if you guys played staples i would die instantly. that probably doesn’t sound like good thing but it is. :P

can’t wait to see you october 2nd!!! <3

  7. One time… eons ago… There was a show at The Norva. It was the one that just Mae opened for you (it was their first “big show” ever). At that show you played For The Moments I Feel Faint. It was such a beautiful moment. It was as if the rock and roll show was put on pause and for a few minutes everyone just connected with God. People all over the place were raising their hands and you could even hear in Matt’s voice just how special that song was to him. It is to this day one of my favorite Relient K memories.

I would love to hear For The Moments I Feel Faint played live again.

  8. I really love everything! Maybe you could play “I So Hate Consequences,” “I Am Understood,” “Fallen Man,” “Which To Bury, Us Or The Hatchet,” “Deathbed,” “The Best Thing,” “Forgiven,” I am really up for anything!

  9. Ya’ll should play these:
In Love with the 80′s, I am Understood, Pressing On, Jefferson Aeroplane, Falling Out, For the Moments I Feel Faint, Maintain Consciousness, and Nothing Without You. Please, please, pleasee play In Love with the 80′s though.

  10. Well, unfortunately, I won’t be able to make it to any of the dates this time. :(
But I think you guys should play Less is More, Jefferson Aeroplane, Softer to Me, For the Moments I Feel Faint, Forward Motion, I Am Understood?, From End to End, or Gibberish. Yeah, one of those. That would be swell.

  11. Hoopes. you guys need to play pressing on, college kids, more than useless, the truth, the last the lost the least, kick off, down in flames, i’m lion-o, yours those words are not enough. I mean, i wouldn’t complain if you guys played every song you ever wrote.

    • Unless something has changed, Thiessen once told me that The Truth was a stretch so he can only really sing it on good days. LOL But I love it.

  12. I would love to see I So Hate Consequences, From End to End, Fallen Man, Curl Up and Die, or Jefferson Aeroplane. But I love everything, so do what you want, haha.

  13. Please play There Was No Thief or I will be really mad and crap my pants….

  14. I would like to request…”More than Useless”, “Operation”, “The Last, the Lost, the Least”, “Failure to Excommunicate”, “I am Understood?”, and “From End to End”….hearing any of these live would be awesome! :) I will see you Mr. Hoopes at the Dallas, TX show, hope I can meet you and say hello!

  15. I Am Understood and Over Thinking would be great

  16. It would be sweet to hear Hope for every fallen man. also forward motion and forgiven!

  17. Can I request a city? You guys used to go to Albuquerque, NM and I have seen you every time you have gone since 2002. I guess my request is much more demanding but it makes me sad that I haven’t seen you guys in so long. Miss you. I’ll bring you skittles and combos!!!!

  18. Hey, it’s Cameron in Dallas; im an 8 year fan, and I would love to hear “breakdown.” I’ve seen you guys four times but never seen it in the setlist! I bet “there was another time in my life” would be pretty cool live too. And hoopes, by the way, I was just at Big Sur and did the Highway 1 drive with my family in June! Beautiful.

  19. Please play “Curl Up and Die” and “There Was No Thief”

  20. If you guys get to a good chill point in the Minneapolis show, i’d love to hear the classic “Getting Into You.” Its been one of my favorite intimate with God songs since you guys released it.
And just so ya know, you have to listen to me, cause i’ve been a diehard fan since your first album!
Ps. I do like the “Staples” idea stated above.

  21. How about everything? ;) haha

  22. I pretty much love anything you guys do but I would LOVE to hear you play “Which to Bury, Us or the Hatchet”, “Curl Up and Die” and “From End to End” in Philly. I am so excited for this concert!

  23. Failure to Excommunicate! :)

  24. Curl Up And Die is great, although I won’t be at any of these shows. I will be at your November show with the Winter Wonderslam though! :D

  25. I’ve always wanted to hear pressing on live!!!

  26. I’m so mad. I think that I’m not gonna be able to go to the one show that’s less than an hour away from me. >:(

  27. I’m so mad. I don’t think I’m able to go to the closest show to me. >:( Next time, maybe.

  28. I’m so mad. >:( I don’t think I’m going to be able to go to the closest show to me.

  29. But if I could go, I would say From End to End or Jefferson’s Aeroplane…just play something from Two Lefts and that’ll make everyone happy.

  30. I will be coming to Nashville Oct. 11 to hear you play. I have been a long time fan and in my favorite cd is “The Anatomy of the Tongue In Cheek”. Such good writing on that cd. Really anything from that cd would be awesome. Preferably not “Sadie Hawkins Dance” because I know that ya’ll play it alot. Anything form”Two Lefts” would be great as well. Also something where the banjo must come out.

  31. I’d say as much Two Lefts as possible. That album’s packed with fan favorites. And I think it’d be very special and surprising if you all played something from the self-titled record, but yeah, it’s great that you’ll be playing old stuff.

  32. You guys should play “For The Moments I Feel Faint”. That song means a lot to me and is by far my favorite Relient K song and you guys never play it because it’s from one of the earlier albums. Thanks! :)

  33. In Like a Lion, Curl Up and Die, The Last the Lost the Least, Deathbed (definitely!), Fallen Man, I kinda like No One Knows What Vinyl Is. :)

That aside, I am very excited for all three bands on this tour. :) I really LOVE Copeland as well, and I saw Barcelona open for Mae in May, and the vocals are incredible. I know you’ll love them.

  34. I think it would amazing if you guys played ”For The Moments I Feel Faint”. You guys never play it because it’s off one of your earlier albums and it’s my favorite song of yours by far.

  35. Softer to Me is a classic. One of my favorite songs seeing you play live is Down in Flames. Thats a throwback. When you guys used to play Charles in Charge in the middle of Pressing On was also fun times. hilarious! obviously been listening to you guys for way too long!

  36. SOFTER TO ME!!!!!!!!!!! <3 <3 <3

  37. Hey guys!!! I love to hear everything… the sad part though is that you guys aren’t coming to Detroit :’(.. Hopefully though I get to make it to one of your concerts, somehow, someway.

  38. I’ll be there on October 21st in Oklahoma!
Some cool songs I’d like to hear are “Who I Am Hates Who I’ve Been”, “Forgiven”, “Must Have Done Something Right”, “I So Hate Consequences” and any other ones because ALL your songs are awesome!
Can’t wait to see you guys there!

  39. My list: Pressing On***, Nothing Without You**, Deathbed*, Fallen Man, William, Getting Into You, Forward Motion, For The Moments I Feel Faint AND new stuff! DO NOT play Sadie Hawkins Dance! Thanks!

I’ve been a fan since 2003 and I’ve seen you 10+ times. I will be seeing you in PHILLY on Friday and in NYC with TobyMac on Nov. 20th!

  40. “There Was No Thief” really hits home with me. I love that song so much and I would lose my mind if you guys didn’t play it on the tour. If anything just play it in Minneapolis ;)

Can’t Wait Guys! Hope all is well and you have a safe trip up!

  41. Please do “Getting Into You” and “Which to bury us or the hatchet” and “mood rings” and “in love with the 80′s”!!!!! Please do allloot of your old songs because I’ve been a fan for a really long time but this is my first concert!! :)

  42. Show and Tell

thats like.. the best song EVER

    …..

  43. dear matthew hoopes,
i would love nothing more than if you would start the Atlanta show with “Kick-Off”, just for fun and old times sake.
    much love,
    josh mix

  44. You should play “At Least We Made it This Far” tomorrow in Boston…

  45. I’ll be seeing you October 9 in St. Louis :D you all have truly been a blessing to me with your music and I’d like to thank you for that. Please play For the Moment I Feel Faint or These words Are Not Enough as those are my favorites of those with a Christian message and I Love the 80′s as I’ll be there with my bro and that is our favorite of your songs. We’ve danced to that countless times…

  46. I have tickets for the October 16th show in Denver. I saw RK at Spirit West Coast in San Diego (my hometown) and I am lucky to see y’all again because I’m here for college…anyways, I would love to hear Softer To Me. If you play one song from your first album, please make it softer to me! I also would like to hear College Kids and/or Hoopes I Did It Again. I love all your songs, but those are awesome (as are all your songs)!

  47. Savannah.
    Over It.
    Up and Up.

You must play these songs when in Dallas. Or it would be greatly greatly appreciated. They are my favorites.
Please please please and thank you!
Have a happy tour and i will see you on Monday! :)
